This just rang true for me。The only thing I have read since H & M stepped back。 I've found that this just feels true。 I've not wished to support the paparazzi。 A great read。 Thanks!

Too many little unnecessary details that only point out at the fact who this was really written by。 It didn’t introduce anything other than the positive reports on M&H, and how they do nothing wrong, ever! Unfortunately this comes across as whining。 Also, it sounds like each chapter tries so hard to convey the reader that every single negative detail that the media wrote about them wasn't true at all。。。。would be much nicer to read about their actual acts of making the world better, like they kee Too many little unnecessary details that only point out at the fact who this was really written by。 It didn’t introduce anything other than the positive reports on M&H, and how they do nothing wrong, ever! I learned so much。 This book was published in 2020 and I want a continuation。 I want to hear the last year and a half of story。 It was good。 It was definitely from a new reporter point of view, not Harry and Meghan themselves。 Have they written a book? Maybe I should find one they wrote and read it next!

Didn’t really learn anything more than had been run through the mud in the media。 It does give you sympathy for all the royals and what they put up with: protocol, expectations, judgement, emotional challenges。 Obviously a book on Harry and Megan, so it sides with them, though no one is reflected poorly。 I did not leave with worse or better feeling than I already had。 Would be interesting to read the same book from another family member’s perspective, to get all sides of the story。 I do have res Didn’t really learn anything more than had been run through the mud in the media。 It does give you sympathy for all the royals and what they put up with: protocol, expectations, judgement, emotional challenges。 Obviously a book on Harry and Megan, so it sides with them, though no one is reflected poorly。 I did not leave with worse or better feeling than I already had。 Would be interesting to read the same book from another family member’s perspective, to get all sides of the story。 I do have respect for the strong people all royals must be, to put up with the constant barrage of spotlight and perfection。 I am fascinated by the amount of staff it takes to “run” each person’s image, I would love to hear more about that!A note on the audio version- British accent, is spoken very fast, takes a while to get used to it and to catch every word。 。。。more

I really enjoyed seeing the true side of the Sussex story。 I think the authors did a great job getting facts and being thorough。

Vapid。 That is the word that kept popping up in my mind as I made my way through this book。 I have never been interested in royal gossip and actions。 Perhaps I was permanently scarred when a family member forced me as a child to watch the royal wedding in 1981。 At the time, I didn't understand the attraction about a wasted display of opulence。 I still don't。 Unfortunately Finding Freedom is filled with endless name dropping and detailed description of expensive ceremonies。 But the worst element Vapid。 That is the word that kept popping up in my mind as I made my way through this book。 I have never been interested in royal gossip and actions。 Perhaps I was permanently scarred when a family member forced me as a child to watch the royal wedding in 1981。 At the time, I didn't understand the attraction about a wasted display of opulence。 I still don't。 Unfortunately Finding Freedom is filled with endless name dropping and detailed description of expensive ceremonies。 But the worst element of this book is the constant quotes attributed to a "good friend," or "trusted friend," or "someone close to the royal family。" The authors spend no time researching quotes for validity, which they acknowledge in the author notes, stating that if they had a majority of people stated something, they took the description as fact。 This was convenient, which I imagine the author, could then interview people with a certain slant as they wished。 If the intent of the authors was to show the couple in a good light, I think they failed。 Often the two are portrayed as superficial, volatile and petty。 The one positive about the book is that it has motivated me to find a better written account on this topic。 。。。more

All in all, this was a poor account。 It tried so hard to promote Harry and Meghan as untouchable, perfect, and the victims of horrible circumstances that it really just came across fake and unrelatable。www。theliteratureladies。com All in all, this was a poor account。 It tried so hard to promote Harry and Meghan as untouchable, perfect, and the victims of horrible circumstances that it really just came across fake and unrelatable。www。theliteratureladies。com 。。。more

I think most of the bad reviews for this are just Meghan haters, but I more just struggled with the slow pace and repetition of information from a previous book I had read about Harry and Meghan。 This one definitely skewed more positively toward them than anything else I have read, so I can understand the argument that they might have been involved in writing it。

I liked it。 It was definitely written with a slanted viewpoint of someone who favors Harry and Meghan, but I enjoyed listening to it。

An interesting read if you are invested in the Royal family。 It provides a side to the drama that is being played out publicly。 It’s clearly one narrative and when you read it you can decide for yourself what you think of it。

I have a feeling my review won’t be popular but here goes。 I feel for Harry and Meghan。 Harry is not William and Meghan is certainly not Kate。 I understand that the monarch deals with controversy and rumor differently than most; however the family should stand together to protect their own。 No one backed up Harry to make his own choices (albeit not favorable choices to most of the royals) but a little more public support from William and Kate and Charles and Camilla probably would have went a lo I have a feeling my review won’t be popular but here goes。 I feel for Harry and Meghan。 Harry is not William and Meghan is certainly not Kate。 I understand that the monarch deals with controversy and rumor differently than most; however the family should stand together to protect their own。 No one backed up Harry to make his own choices (albeit not favorable choices to most of the royals) but a little more public support from William and Kate and Charles and Camilla probably would have went a long way to soften the blow from the press snd the public。 I feel like the story was told in a way that didn’t make H&M look like Sparkling jewels but rather shared their mistakes and maybe wrong decisions but also made them 2 pp in love and wanting to not be in the public eye like the rest of the royals。 。。。more

Let me start this by saying。 That I don't read quickly。 A book any book, takes me awhile to finish。 That being said。 I started this book, and managed to finish in 3 days。 Literally reading 100 pages my first day alone。 Subjects in this book go in depth, and personal。 Do I believe that Meghan and Harry participated in the book? No。 Do they blame the family for what happened。 Some what。 But it's mostly on "the firm" or as Diana used to call them "the grey suits"。 The family is part of the firm, but are not the firm。 I had too quickly come to realize that the firm are their aides, and the courtiers。 The advisors to the family。 While they speak for the Queen and family。 They tend to also want to protect the Monarchy (the old institution) rather than adapt and grow。 They discuss things like Yvonne (Samantha Markle), Thomas Markle Jr。, and Thomas Markle。 They discuss Thomas Jr。 legal troubles。 Samatha changing her name, her hair color and what not, after Meghan got engaged to Harry。 They discuss how Thomas Markle won some lottery with a prize of $750,000, but because he "had a big heart" he gave it to Samantha, and Thomas Junior and made bad investments。 They also discuss that after the staged photos。 Meghan begged her father to get in the car they sent for him, and come to London。 He refused。 He actually stopped speaking to her, after the photos came out。 He to this day continues to play victim, when he's the abuser。 We as the public will never know the whole truth。 But I have a feeling their side, is more truthful than the "firm"。 It's a good read, and kept me intrigued。 Just makes me realize, that tabloids paid a large part in their departure。 Harry did it to keep history from repeating itself。 He's being protective, and I can't blame a new father, wanting to keep his family safe。 It's a great read。 Read it with an open mind。 。。。more

Nice to get a little more of the couples back story。 This was clearly written by Meghan, and or dictated by Meghan so that's cool。 Just wish she would have put her name on it as it feels a bit cheap now。 Poorly written, but good insight。 Nice to get a little more of the couples back story。 This was clearly written by Meghan, and or dictated by Meghan so that's cool。 Just wish she would have put her name on it as it feels a bit cheap now。 Poorly written, but good insight。 。。。more

I don't have a solid opinion on Harry and Meghan。 On the one hand, grown adults should have the freedom to live how and where they wish (#freebritney)。 I've watched enough of "The Crown" to know that the British Royalty's sense of duty above all else can be really messed up。 And without a doubt Harry and Meghan have both had some significant mental health issues and I commend them both, him especially, for being a role model and a leader when it comes to mental wellness advocacy。 But。。。 ugh, the I don't have a solid opinion on Harry and Meghan。 On the one hand, grown adults should have the freedom to live how and where they wish (#freebritney)。 I've watched enough of "The Crown" to know that the British Royalty's sense of duty above all else can be really messed up。 And without a doubt Harry and Meghan have both had some significant mental health issues and I commend them both, him especially, for being a role model and a leader when it comes to mental wellness advocacy。 But。。。 ugh, these two sometimes seem so whiny and privileged and impulsive and impatient and tone-deaf, and did I mention whiny and tone-deaf?But this is a review on the book, not on them。 And this book is ridiculous and cringy。 Incredibly one-sided, and breathless and deferential and venerating the point that I just wanted to roll my eyes constantly。 There is simply no way this book did not have Harry and Meghan as sources -- the level of detail was preposterous -- but if the purpose of this book was to make me more sympathetic, it actually had the opposite effect on me。 Time and time and time again, the examples the authors choose to highlight demonstrate a couple that is incredibly, disgustingly rich; wrapped up with one another without concerns about family or friends (the 'us against the world' mentality); and who genuinely see themselves as saviors with a higher calling。 It's just too much。 And the authors lay it all on so thick。 Ugh。 I picked it this book up at the library on a whim, and I not only regret the time I spent reading it, but there is no way I would recommend it to anyone。 But because I did, in fact, read it through to the end (why?), it gets one star from me。 。。。more

Many years ago I read Brett Easton Ellis’ American Psycho, a novel that was more like a tedious listing of 80’s au courant name-dropping interspersed with episodes of extreme depravity and violence。 Finding Freedom is a “biography” that reads more like a tedious listing of modern haute couture name-dropping interspersed with episodes of self-styled victimization or martyrdom by Harry and Meghan。 If this book is supposed to make them more sympathetic, it fails spectacularly。 The authors are equal Many years ago I read Brett Easton Ellis’ American Psycho, a novel that was more like a tedious listing of 80’s au courant name-dropping interspersed with episodes of extreme depravity and violence。 Finding Freedom is a “biography” that reads more like a tedious listing of modern haute couture name-dropping interspersed with episodes of self-styled victimization or martyrdom by Harry and Meghan。 If this book is supposed to make them more sympathetic, it fails spectacularly。 The authors are equally as tone deaf as their subjects。 。。。more

For two people who work for the media, this book reads as if a teenager had written it。 Too many word salads and flowery sentences。 Furthermore, I know Omid is on Meghan and Harry's side but how could he be making money off of lip reading her private life? If no, why do they put things like Harry nodding approvingly at Meghan because she used the restroom outdoors。 It sounds uncomfortably like the authors is telling the world about Prince Harry's private fetishes。I love the great outdoors and have used the restrooms in the woods before。 Never once did my husband ever nodded approvingly。 It just sounds very odd。Moreover, this book was added to Meghan's trial with the ANL。 The summary judgement was won by Meghan。 The ANL has appealed the ruling and was granted a full trial。 Did Omid, with his lip reading, and Carolyn Durand screw over Meghan by publishing this book so that they could earn money off of the Sussexes' private life? It remains to be seen。Omid once posted on his Twitter page "Freedom Found!"I hope for his sake, that it is right because it's not looking great for either him, Carolyn Durand, or Meghan Markle。I am not sure who I would recommend this book to。 There are a lot of detailed private information in here that I question the legitimacy of both the authors of this book and their reasoning for writing this (other than making money off of the Sussexes who made it quite clear that they want privacy)。I know Omid had a pinned post on Twitter about how this book was on a bestseller's list。 Neither Meghan nor Prince Harry have ever started a lawsuit against Omid or Carolyn for the blatant invasion of privacy。So I have no clue what is going on here。The one star is for the bad writing。 I expect more from people who write almost daily for the media。 。。。more
